Blogging made easy with Picasa!

Okay so heres the fat and skinny on blogging.

COMMENTING ON A PHOTO
It's easy to post a comment to any picture that you see. At this time you can post a comment with or without a blogger user name or password. Just click on the word "comments" found just below any of the pictures you see posted on the page. Add your comments and fill in the security word (this is to verify you are not a computer) and click "publish". That's all there is to posting a comment to a picture.

UPLOADING A PICTURE
To follow along with the instructions below you will first need to download and install a free program: PICASA (Click Here for free download)

Using "BlogThis! you can post a picture to your blog directly from within Picasa. Since the "BlogThis!" button is integrated directly with Blogger's website, you will need a Blogger username and password to access the "BlogThis!" service.

To get a Blogger account, go to HTTP://www.blogger.com/start (IF YOU FOLLOWED THE LINK SENT TO YOU VIA EMAIL YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE SET UP YOUR BLOGGER USER NAME AND PASSWORD IF NOT DO THIS NOW).

How do I use "BlogThis!" to post a picture to my blog?

To publish a photo from Picasa to your blog using "BlogThis!", do the
following:

1. Select the photo in Picasa you wish to add to your blog in Picasa. You can publish up to one image at a time in a single blog post. (If you select more than one photo, only the first will be sent to Blogger.)
2. Click the "BlogThis!" button.
3. Enter your Blogger.com username and password. Check the "Remember me" box if you want to save your login information (this will set a cookie in your default browser).
4. Click the "Sign In" button.
5. If you are a first time user, select the blog you wish to publish to
using the drop down. You can also select a picture layout and image size. Click the "Save Settings" button.
6. A Blogger editor page will open displaying your pictures on an HTML page.
7. If you wish to include captions with your photos, click the "Edit HTML" tab and enter your caption text under each photo.
8. Click the "Publish" button. Your blog will open with your photos added at the top.

UPLOADING FROM PICASA WITH COMMENTS ADDED TO YOUR PHOTO
Captions entered in Picasa are not transferred to your blog when using the "BlogThis!" button. Follow these steps to add captions to the photos after they have been transferred to the "BlogThis!" editor:

1. In the “BlogThis editor, click the “Compose” tab. (Usually this is selected by default)
2. Click on the area where you would like to add text, a cursor will appear.
3. Type your caption. Use the buttons at the top of the editor for more formatting and alignment options. For HTML editing, click the “Edit HTML” tab.
4. When you’re finished, click the “Publish” button. Your blog will open with your photo and caption posted at the top of the page.

Jack & Cheryl's Niagra Falls Photos

Here are a few more! I feel like the picture hog here! Enjoy!

Jack & Cheryl's 25th Anniversary to Niagra Falls

Just got back today! What an amazing trip! Canada is so crisp and clean (except when its not raining or misting from the falls of course). There were tulips everywhere! Every color you could imagine, and the Canadians are such gardeners! As you will see in the pictures everything is so lush and green. I was in love with their many different trees. If you like the night life there is also plenty of that too! Jack and I would recommend it to any of our family members especially if you are looking for a romantic get-away! Any romantic Newberry's left?

We flew from Tampa into DC then on to Buffalo NY. After renting a car in NY we drove for about 35 minutes into Canada to cross the famous Rainbow Bridge right into the Niagra Falls Canandian Region. The locals call this the Province of Ontario. Lake Ontario and Lake Eirie were both beautiful to see! We so enjoyed our hotel room at the Brock Plaza and had spectacular views of both the Canadian and American Falls. Cananda is also known for its vineyards so we took a day and drove the countryside and enjoyed a tour of one of the winery's.....Jack was liking that! We came back exhausted from craming so much in but I am glad we did!
Hope you enjoy the pictures and go if you ever get a chance!

Happy Mothers Day!

I just wanted to take a minute to recognize a few of the distinguished mothers in our family. Thank you mom for always being there. When I think of you I have so many memories of your sacrifice and giving to our family. You always put our needs before those of your own. I'm sure I didn't realize and appreciate [at the time] all of the nice things you passed up for yourself in order that us kids might get that new "_______", fill in the blank with our never ending wants, needs and request.
I'm not sure what your parenting goals were when you started but in the end, if you were looking to raise a pretty well rounded group of adults who value family, and contribute to this world with love and dedication you don't have to look very far to see that your children turned out to be just those kind. We each have a mother that we can point to who raised us with honor, grace and consistency. We knew if we disobeyed we wouldn't like the consequences and we likewise knew that if we were in trouble you would never turn us away.
You are amazing mom. You are our mom, my mom and I just want to honor you today by saying thank you for all you have ever done and I wish the most complete day of happiness and joy.
We have a lot of great moms in this Newberry (and extended) family tree. Soooo many I'm afraid to begin listing them. Happy Mothers day to each of you!
Granny Rice we love you very much as well and if it we're not for you I would not be here right now so think about that for appreciation. Thank you granny for always being the ultimate granny. Growing up you always delivered the most perfect biscuits as well as the hugs. I remember crawling up in your armchair next to you watching the Friday night favorites such as The Duke's of Hazard and Fantasy Island and feeling so loved and warm snuggled up there in that arm chair next to you. I remember you and I making trips to the old Ruskin grocery store for Mountain Dew at 9:30 at night and sitting around dialing in the police scanner for the latest weekend chase (mostly listening out for John and Tony's name to come up) - Granny you should have been an investigative reporter or a police detective - you love that stuff.
The point here is these are great and special memories to me but you are very special to each of us for very unique reasons. You had a way of connecting with us and loving us just were we were.
You did things a little differently than others. We live in an age of blended families and yet you never singled anyone out [that I have ever heard] as a 'step' anything. You accepted all of your family as your children and grandchildren. And I loved that. You just simply accepted and loved us all as equal. Thank you for showing me that kind example of unconditional love and acceptance. I know that Pops was and is proud of you as a mother and grandmother and I want you to know that I am as well. Granny you are such a very special grandmother and I love you! Your grandson, Patrick
